Meet Harla Hawkins

Where are you now?

For as long as I can remember, I have had a vision to own and operate a childrens clothing business, write a book, and produce a CD. My children are now, 20, 23, and 26 and it is time for me to live a life of my own. My mind is conditioned for business and my passion is creativity.

What is your deepest desire?

Sewing was once my love, I allowed life to steal that love from me, and now I am determined to take it back. This is my time to flourish and start planning and to give birth to the vision God planted within me. The time has come for me to start valuing my time, as I value other's time. My deepest desire is to own a childrens clothing manufacturing business, write a book, and produce a CD.

How will you give back to others?

My way of giving back is to build a safe haven for pregnant teenagers, providing them with the education and training they need to become excellent parents and live successful lives.

What are some of your goals you will finish this year?

My personal goal for this year is to improve my credit score, develop a solid business plan, produce additional income by selling handmade items on the internet, and to begin developing my first line of dresses for little girls.

Why are you a member of Woman Act Now?

Although I met Anna McCoy through Gods Leading Ladies in 2005, the year of 2009 was my season to come out of the dark and into the light. I have joined this group to connect with women that think like me, to develop personally, professionally and who will help me be accountable to achieving my dream.
